The Book of Romans
Some Biblical scholars have called Romans “the most profound work in existence.” It is in this book that Paul asserts his most comprehensive statements about the significance of the cross of Christ. Romans 1:6 is an excellent summary of the book and says: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to every one who believes.” Paul points out the freedoms we have in Christ: freedom from the grip of sin, freedom from guilt, and freedom from the grip of death. Christ has justified us before God. In Christ, we are free indeed!
